November Monthly Meeting

The November Monthly Meeting is scheduled to take place Thursday, November 15th at the Palazzina at the Centro delle Donne (via del Piombo, 5) with social greetings beginning at 7.15pm followed by a presentation at 8pm  by Marcella Terrusi, PhD, who will discuss how books serve as bridges between cultures and in particular, picture and wordless books. Terrusi is currently a Research Fellow for the Department for Life Quality Studies at the University of Bologna, Rimini campus and her areas of research include children's literature, outdoor education, fashion and inclusion. She collaborates with the Bologna Children's Books Fair and the Giannino Stoppani group and is active on the national board of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People). She is author of Albi Illustrati (Carocci, 2012) and Meraviglie Mute (2017). Following the presentation, consider joining us for no-host aperitivo. Location to be announced soon.

Marcella Terrusi graduated from the University of Bologna with a degree in Modern Literature and later obtained her Doctorate in Pedagogy at the New Parsons School of Design in New York. She is currently a Research Fellow for the Department for Life Quality Studies at the University of Bologna, Rimini campus. Her research focus is primarily regarding Children's literature and culture and the value of outdoor education for children. Terrusi has also worked on various exhibitions regarding Children's illustrations, health and sports activities. She collaborates with Bologna Children's Books Fair, with Giannino Stoppani's group and she is active in the national board of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People). She is the author of Albi Illustrati (Carocci, 2012) and Meraviglie Mute (2017).
