Formal membership in the IWF requires payment of annual dues in support of the organization. Dues are used to cover the operating expenses of the IWF including meeting space, speaker expenses, newsletter publication and website hosting.
Regular members are entitled to attend all general meetings, social events and interest group activities. They receive a weekly bulletin board and “best of the forum” summary via e-mail as well as the monthly newsletter vox@bo when attending meetings. Upon payment of dues, regular members are assigned a unique username and password allowing access to the reserved areas of the IWF on-line community. With this login members may:
-post messages in the on-line forums
-participate in the photo directory
-visit the interest group areas including the job bank
-download copies of current and past newsletters
The IWF has created a series of membership options designed to meet the needs of our friends both in Bologna and far away. Regular, supporting and student memberships allow full access to the on-line community. Institutional memberships allow your organization to be represented with a brief description in our sponsorship area. Only regular members are permitted to vote and hold board positions. Visitors are welcome to attend one meeting free of charge.
This membership is ideal for people living out of town or out of the country who cannot regularly attend meetings but wish to support the IWF. Supporting members have full access to the on-line community are welcome to attend general meetings for a drop-in fee of €5.
Each institution is entitled to send two attendees per meeting. The advantage to institutional membership is that involvement in the IWF can be circulated among the institution’s employees, members, or students. Institutional members are represented on-line with a brief description in our sponsorship area.
Student members (with proof of full-time student status) enjoy the same benefits as regular members other than the right to vote or serve on the board.
